This is the experience we all wait for without realising. A true devotee aspires for this experience of God, of Joy.
Recently, we were invited to ISKCON, Bangalore for Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi day. That evening, my family and I all jumped into my car. Once we arrived at ISKCON, we were seated at the open air theatre, where a video of Srila Prabhupada and experiences of mainly his foreign devotees was being shown.
I watched this video play for 10 minutes when, the mind starting questioning, why only foreign devotees? Why not Indian devotees? Honestly, I do not have any knowledge of Srila Prabhupada and his life. Questioning turned to judgment and the mind again worried, are they trying to market Srila Prabhupada in the name of ISKCON? So many thoughts were crowding and I was beginning to feel uncomfortable.
I stepped back from my judgments and then a thought came gliding in… What for has God sent me here? I know there is something for me to learn from this experience. A beautiful voice spoke from within… A real devotee sees God everywhere. Instantly, there was light everywhere. There was joy everywhere. My eyes filled with tears of joy.

All my judgments came crashing down and God was present right there as I watched the devotees dance to the bhajans which they were singing.
It was such a beautiful experience. It was such an awakening. I was so uplifting.
If all of us can learn from our life’s experiences, life itself will uplift us beyond our egotistical differences into a new world of love and joy. There will be just the one God. And that God is within. It watches through the eyes of this body, listens through the ears and feels through the Heart, always loving, always guiding. Life is beautiful.
