Description
There are 32 varieties of honey available in the forests of India, of which Nadichikitsa has eight types. These include Acacia, Kombu, Dark Forest, Siru, White, and Puttru. All honey varieties act as blood purifiers, but some produce heat in the body. Honey that produces heat is beneficial for people with Vata and Kapha Prakruti. Kombu and Siru honey are particularly good for people with Pitta Prakruti.
Kombu honey is an excellent blood purifier. This type of honey is ideal for people with Pitta Prakruthi, but it does not increase heat in the body. Ideally, when people consume honey, they may experience nosebleeds due to the heat. However, Kombu honey does not increase heat in the body.
