The Maypole Meditation helps you connect with your Higher Consciousness and experience pure and unconditional love. The psychology behind the practice, as I understand it is simply like this.
We all claim that God is above all of us. Furthermore, when we need to remember God for blessings or to express gratitude, we tend to look up. This means, in our subconscious, we have physically placed God on a platter, which is in an elevated place, higher than where we stand.
So, we use this knowledge to our advantage by connecting with our Higher Consciousness or God. This practice involves you connecting to a tall pole with several multi coloured ribbons flowing from a sphere at the top which represents our Higher Consciousness.
The author of this practice Mrs Phyllis Krystal was in France at that time. She happened to see that, in the month of May, people erect a tall pole and tie multi-coloured ribbons to the top of the pole. Children then hold these ribbons and run around creating a design or pattern of the criss-crossed ribbons. This tall pole is called the Maypole.
Before you connect to the Maypole, you need to sit straight with your spine, neck and head straight. This helps connect with lesser interference from the mind. Although this practice can be done with your eyes open or closed, I personally feel lowering my gaze towards the floor and keeping my eyelids closed has been most beneficial. You can see what benefits you the most.
Once we renew our connection with our Higher Consciousness, we breathe in relaxing energies and breathe out any stress that might interfere with our connection to the Higher Consciousness. The stress in the mind such as anxiety and restlessness can create distractions or what we call static noise that prevents us from connecting with the Higher Consciousness.
Once the mind is calm, you can continue the practice further.
The second step is to Heal your body, mind and feelings. We all need healing, whether it is physical, mental or emotional. When we heal ourselves, we release distress and pain from the body, mind, emotions and feelings.
The third step is to cleanse and purify the mind. By cleansing the mind of negative thoughts, feelings, emotions and negative experiences, we can free the mind so that it can only receive instructions from the Higher Consciousness.
The fourth step is to strengthen your body and mind. You will also release any tiredness, fatigue and any feeling of weakness in the body and mind.
The fifth step is to receive unconditional love from the Higher Consciousness. This is the most powerful step. To intensify the practice you can visualise, think, imagine or feel a flower in the centre of your chest. You can also see whether this flower is a bud, has blossomed or has wilted. Either way order this flower to come into full bloom. Then, ask your Higher Consciousness to send its love through the ribbon directly to your heart. Breathe it in, then send out any feeling of guilt, a sense of low self worth and low self esteem.
Once you are able to receive and bask in love from the Higher Consciousness, you will feel floaty and blissful. The mind will calm down like never before.
To enhance the love of the Higher Consciousness in you, it must be shared. For full instructions download the Maypole Meditation Audio Guide and practice twice daily to connect with your Higher Consciousness, experience its love and also share it with all of creation.
You can ask your Higher Consciousness any question you have about a problem, a relationship or a situation. Your Higher Consciousness is always there to help you no matter what.
When you get your answer, ask; “Who is giving this answer?” If you get reply that is a name of a God or Guru, that’s mostly your mind fooling you. When the answer is indeed from your Higher Consciousness, you will know. The message will be filled with love and joy.
You can write to us any questions you have about this practice or any other queries you have. We will answer your queries.
