This is why Nadi Pariksha is absolutely necessary

After finishing my client consultation, I casually stepped out of my consultation room into the waiting room. A middle aged man was strolling in the area. He was the only other person in the room besides my team that supports me.

I called him inside my consultation room to see him. He introduced himself as an aeronautical engineer.

He was slim and looked well built. I asked for his hand to do his Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis).

From my diagnosis I could see that he had lower and upper back pain. I asked him whether he had these pains and he answered; Yes.

After my diagnosis, I asked him for his treatment record. I saw that he had taken both Allopathic and Ayurvedic treatment before and this was his third consultation. But on examination of the treatment record, I saw that the Allopathic medicine and Ayurvedic oils used weren’t appropriate for treating his particular condition. So, I asked him whether he had any benefit at all. He said he experienced no benefit from the treatments.

What I had seen with my diagnosis was that my client had pains which are caused by reduced Vayu and increased Kapha-Pitta. This means, his pains are not radiating. The pains are localized at different places. But, he received treatment which was given for symptoms caused by increase in Vayu that cause radiating pains. Because no proper Ayurvedic Diagnosis was done which could accurately diagnose the problem of the patient, the line of treatment was incorrect.

This is the reason why diagnosing a patient’s condition with Nadi Pariksha is so important. Without accurately diagnosing the patient’s root cause and actual symptoms, no treatment will be effective to the extent the patient desires, that the doctor prescribes.

My client had already spent a month taking the treatments and it was sad to notice that he had not experienced relief from pain. On the contrary, he had lost both time and money.

So, I suggested the same treatment be repeated, but, with different oils that are meant to treat his condition and, specific pre and post procedures including Marma Chikitsa.

My client is now on the road to complete recovery.
