She was running 5k every morning when this happened to her

She had suffered a severe bout of migraine. A friend of her’s, who had just called her realised something was wrong and directed her call my office and schedule a consultation.

When she walked in, I saw a very fit and trim woman introduce herself. She was an avid golfer and a marathoner. She’d never had a migraine before and when it occurred, she didn’t know what was happening to her. Her vision went blur and she couldn’t hold herself together.

So, I seated her and performed her Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis). What I found didn’t surprise me, but I saw somethings happening in her body which made me enquire about her running.

She told me that she had recently developed pain in her knees. So, she visited an orthopaedic. The doctor told her that her knees were wearing out because she was running on uneven ground and that her problem aggravated with the thin sole shoes she was wearing on her runs. Her knees had begun to arrest her running. So, the doctor advised her to run on even ground and also wear thick soles shoes. She was uncomfortable with both of these suggestions. She didn’t know what to do.

I found this hard to believe. Let us infuse some hard truths into our brains. We’re a species called homo-erectus. This means, we’re a species that are meant to stand straight and running is one of the natural given abilities. And we have a pelvis (hip bone) which tilts and balances the body while the body is running through uneven ground. So, technically what the doctor said couldn’t be scientifically appropriate.

My diagnosis revealed that she was short tempered, had had challenges in her relationships. She was a go getter and very stubborn. Her sense of discipline and etiquette were high on priority. And she was angry because of her unfulfilled desires.

A verse in Ayurveda texts reads;

When a desire is left unfulfilled, feelings of unhappiness, apprehension and fear begin to manifest in the mind. These feelings cause anger and frustration which manifest as symptoms in the body.

So, I enquired about her past and she said that it all started when she was handling her second pregnancy. She didn’t have her husband’s support. He was traveling. She felt all alone. This made her feel very sad. She then wondered, what if she couldn’t resume her career soon enough. She began to demand time from her husband and this led them to quarrel frequently. Her anger and frustration increased. She got back to her career. She was successful. But her bosses gave her repetitive feedback that she was very aggressive. She couldn’t understand how. Now she had stiffness in her knee’s ligaments and tendons which created pain. Even her migraines happened for the same reason.

In my opinion, it had nothing to do with her running on uneven ground.

So, I suggested that she work on releasing her anger and also I performed Marma Chikitsa ( An superfast ayurvedic therapy to remedy aches and pains in the body and restore health) on her to improve her quality of sleep and restore her knees.

She took the therapies and treatments without delay. On day 3, she ran with her thin sole shoes and on uneven ground. Not only did she not have knee pain, she clocked the best time ever on a 5km run.

Never assume that your doctor knows it all. You must consult a Vaidya (knowledgeable healer) who knows how to find out what your body is going through and also suggests appropriate remedies. And such diagnosis is only available in Ayurveda.

His stomach was burning and his joints were hurting

neck-and-shoulder-pain-man

When you look perfectly okay, but you have unexplained physical problems and you don’t know what is the root cause of it, Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis) is the only way to find out the real problem.

A man, 35 years of age came for a Nadi Pariksha consultation. After performing his Nadi Pariksha, I found that he had stiffness in his neck, his stomach was burning. His joints were stiff and he was lacking quality sleep and that would create stiffness in his neck and aggravate as a nasty migraine. He was judgmental and he would get intensely angry at the slightest provocation. His intense anger was the root cause of all his symptoms.

I enquired with him whether he was getting sudden and intense anger and whether he faced these physical symptoms! He agreed that he was indeed getting angry for frivolous reasons and then his stiff neck condition worsened leaving him with a bad migraine, his burning sensation in the stomach aggravated and his lack of sleep seemed incurable.

Anger can create widespread consequences. When you get angry, tamas, the quality of energy that induces sleep gets disturbed. Further, your alkaline mucus lining in your stomach and your intestines begin to reduce and will eventually result in ulcers. The muscles that bind your joints can lose their elasticity and result in stiff joints. It can further get complicated and result in permanent injuries in your ankles, knees and your shoulders.

This is not the first time I have seen anger manifest into a bothersome symptom. I have seen how anger has manifested into schizophrenia and the person has died of a brain haemorrhage in sleep, and the worst I have witnessed, is how anger has manifested into cancer of the bile duct.

He had taken some so-called remedial measures that actually were slowly destroying him. He had begun compromising and controlling his anger. He was giving into situations so that there would be no confrontation.

But, this step actually destroyed his own peace. He was getting angry but controlling it and diverting himself. The result was manifesting physically.

Anger is not bad. The misuse of anger is bad. Controlling your anger is the worst practice you can create for yourself. It will surely destroy you. Controlling anger is like slow poison.

I explained to him why his body was creating this condition. He could see clearly how he was unknowingly harming himself. So, I suggested that he undertake a few therapies that will help him release all his bent up reasons that cause his anger. I also suggested that he bring his wife so that she can learn  Marma Chikitsa and help him sleep peacefully.

I ended the consultation with giving him Marma Chikitsa treatment. His body and mind relaxed. He felt calm. He had a restful sleep that night.

Almost all physical conditions have their root cause in how you react to your environment. Addressing the root cause and alongside reversing the symptoms is the best way to bring your body and mind to harmony permanently.

Her migraine was cured in just 2 minutes

One day a lady came to me complaining of a severe migraine. She had been having this migraine for two full days. She had been taking migraine medication but the medication did not provide her the relief she was seeking.

I did her Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis) and realised the root cause of her condition. But before I announced my diagnosis, I wanted to ask her some questions.

So, I asked this lady whether she had been skipping her meals. She said her meal timings were erratic. And she also mentioned that her migraine were shifting.

Ah! That confirmed my diagnosis.

Do you know there are three kinds of migraines?

There’s one that comes on the back of your head. Then there’s the other one which comes on any one side which aggravates with increasing daylight. This is the most common one. You feel nausea and you’re more sensitive to sound, light and strong perfumes. The third one is where the headache shifts.

Apparently, the first and third ones are the easiest to get rid of. The first one is caused by eating too much and then the third one is caused by skipping your meals. The second one too comes when you skip your meal. The only difference is that, this migraine occurs only in the morning and afternoons. This takes some work with you and if you’re up to it, you can get rid of your nagging migraine.

So, this lady had the third kind of migraine.

So, I did Marma Chikitsa and suggested she do some breathing exercises and within a few minutes, her two day long migraine vanished.

Understanding your migraine symptoms and identifying the root cause is most important. Then treatment becomes simple and effective.

This is why Nadi Pariksha is absolutely necessary

After finishing my client consultation, I casually stepped out of my consultation room into the waiting room. A middle aged man was strolling in the area. He was the only other person in the room besides my team that supports me.

I called him inside my consultation room to see him. He introduced himself as an aeronautical engineer.

He was slim and looked well built. I asked for his hand to do his Nadi Pariksha (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis).

From my diagnosis I could see that he had lower and upper back pain. I asked him whether he had these pains and he answered; Yes.

After my diagnosis, I asked him for his treatment record. I saw that he had taken both Allopathic and Ayurvedic treatment before and this was his third consultation. But on examination of the treatment record, I saw that the Allopathic medicine and Ayurvedic oils used weren’t appropriate for treating his particular condition. So, I asked him whether he had any benefit at all. He said he experienced no benefit from the treatments.

What I had seen with my diagnosis was that my client had pains which are caused by reduced Vayu and increased Kapha-Pitta. This means, his pains are not radiating. The pains are localized at different places. But, he received treatment which was given for symptoms caused by increase in Vayu that cause radiating pains. Because no proper Ayurvedic Diagnosis was done which could accurately diagnose the problem of the patient, the line of treatment was incorrect.

This is the reason why diagnosing a patient’s condition with Nadi Pariksha is so important. Without accurately diagnosing the patient’s root cause and actual symptoms, no treatment will be effective to the extent the patient desires, that the doctor prescribes.

My client had already spent a month taking the treatments and it was sad to notice that he had not experienced relief from pain. On the contrary, he had lost both time and money.

So, I suggested the same treatment be repeated, but, with different oils that are meant to treat his condition and, specific pre and post procedures including Marma Chikitsa.

My client is now on the road to complete recovery.

Arteriovenous Malformation

seizures and headaches

A woman of 42 years came for a consultation. She was a mother of 2 children.

On checking her pulse, there were indications of increased instability and lightening fast impulses. She revealed that she had AVM or Arteriovenous Malformation.

In the body, arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry de-oxygenated blood. An AVM is a malformation in which certain improperly formed veins disrupt this process. In certain people, the AVM ruptures causing internal bleeding. When there is no rupture, people may experience headache or seizures.

This lady had seizures every single day. The medications she took reduced the intensity of her seizures but seizures continued to occur on the afternoons she rested and seizures occurred with reduced intensity at night.

I suggested she take Marma Chikitsa. After doing two sessions of Marma Chikitsa she did not have seizures. Now she is regularly undertaking Marma Chikitsa therapy and with this intervention, we look forward to a happier and healthier person.

We have seen Marma Chikitsa as one such remedy which provides immediate results in several health conditions such as Cervical Spondylitis, Chronic neck pain, Chronic body pain, neck sprains, neck spasms, migraines, insomnia, sleeplessness, disturbed sleep, epilepsy, radiating arm pain, radiating shoulder pain, low back pains, fatiguing pains in the legs, urinary incontinence, etc.,
