accommodate devotees.
The Badrinath Shrine was
decked up for re-opening the next day and
for
the next six months. The decoration of the Shrine was fabolous and we could
not take our eyes off the temple.
That night, Sudha had was concerned with the amount of money we had and she prayed to Badri Narayana. In the sleep, Sudha had a dream that we will be fine and that we will reach home with the same amount in hand and some extra money in another pouch. Sudha narrated this incident in the morning and was comforted.
While we stayed in Badrinath, we had the best darshans of Badri Narayana.
Miracle 2 continued... - Rakesh Bhartwal and his associates one after the other got their nadi pariksha done. I was thrilled to bits that I could do my work at Badrinath. One by one, they all expressed their love and appreciation through their monetary contributions. Sudha was watching how her dream was coming true.
Miracle 4 - We went for the evening darshan and on reaching there, Sudha asked whether we could go to Shayan Arati. I had borrowed my brother's Britelite torch which I had carried for this darshan. Shayan Arati is considered very auspicious when all the ornaments and flowers are taken off and the Lord is made to rest. When I approached the ticket counter, they told me that the bookings were full and that tickets were not being sold.
As we finished darshan and were about to exit the sanctum sanctorium, power failed. I switched my torch on. The guards asked me to step in and shower the torch light on the lord. I thought, our prayers of Shayan Arati was answered and thanked God. Within a minute the generator was switched on and we were asked to step out. We sat outside after darshan. Sudha held her Vishnu Sahasranama book while I sat in meditation. She could not concentrate and was looking around. Just then, Narayana, cook of the Ravalji appeared and Sudha interrupted me and asked me to talk to Narayana. I approached him and asked him whether we could have darshan of the Lord during Shayan Arati. He said, No problem and we were made to stand in the queue for Shayan Arati and he directed the guards to let us in indicating to him that we were Ravalji's guests. We had one of the best darshans of Shayan Arati and the flow of energies was something to be experienced.
The same experience of energies followed when we attended the Vishnusahasranama path. It was so mersmerising with 20-25 couples chanting Vishnusahasranama the same way. Vandya, our daughter slept during the chanting. Ravalji told us that the soul in kids meditate during such spiritual events and that it is their divine experience.
Miracle 5 - On the last day, I wanted to see Ravalji before we left for Rishikesh. On meeting Ravalji, he asked me whether we had witnessed evening Arati. When we said no, he asked one of the guards to escort us for the evening Arati. While I was at the Arati, I asked Badrinathji, "if you are indeed Mahavtar Babaji, show me your face." (You must know that the main idol does not have any facial features.) As the Arati Jyoti moved from the main idol towards Nar-Narayan idols, I was shown complete facial features of eyes, nose and mouth. I had no doubt that Badrinarayana is indeed Mahavtar Babaji.
Miracle 6 - As we prepared to leave Badrinath, we contacted Sankaran and asked him how much it cost us for our accommodation and the innumerable teas we had to which he replied, "You are Ravalji's guest and it is our honour to serve you." We were touched by this gesture and we donated some amount to the ashram.
Miracle
3 continued... - On our return to Rishikesh, I contact Subhash, the
receptionist at Parmarth Niketan Ashram and told him of our arrival. We were
accommodated that night comfortably. The next morning, my work with Alkaji started
and after her nadi pariksha and therapy, I expressed my desire to leave for
Delhi. She asked her to stay for Ganga Arati and then leave for Delhi.
What followed was not a miracle but touched us very deeply. As we stood to watch the Ganga Arati, Subhash patted on my shoulder and asked me to sit in the VIP gallery. He said Alkaji was very happy with the treatment and wanted us to experience Ganga Arati this way.
On our return to Delhi, Sunita called us and came for a nadi pariksha. She was happy with my work and spread the word around. Now, my next trip to Delhi and Rishikesh is scheduled for July.
Miracle 7- When we returned home after 15 days. We returned with Rs.9000 cash, sacred clothes that adorned the Lord during his worship and loads of blessings from all those people we met on our way.
This was our experience of being in God's programme.
One day in March 2009, I was called by my friend that the Ravalji of Badrinath had come to Bangalore and he needed some medical intervention for his health issues. So my friend suggested that the Ravalji consult me and she called. The Ravalji went through the procedures of diagnosis and treatment. Before leaving he invited us to Badrinath. What I can tell you simple words is that, meeting the Ravalji and everything after that was God's planning and He was in-charge of our pilgrimage.
The Unfolding of Miracles
We had not planned on our stay at Delhi, Rishikesh or Badrinath. We had a strong feeling that all will be taken care of.
Miracle 1 - A few days before we left for Delhi, a patient called from Delhi and asked us whether we were to come to Delhi. I answered in the affirmative and we quickly fixed appointments to see his mother and brother.
On the train, we met Sunita who was the wife of an Indian Army Officer. She was going to give us our next miracle. I will come back to her later in the story.
We started for Delhi on the 26th April. We had carried only Rs.6000 with us. My wife Sudha knew that everything would be okay, yet worried at the back of her mind whether this amount was sufficient. Common sense tells us this is in-sufficient.
On reaching
Delhi, we were driven in their car to their
house in Delhi. We not only had the comfort of a homely atmosphere but also
had peacocks in the vicinity. We enjoyed seeing peacocks. With my work done,
I was handsomely reward, we were well taken care of, and after dinner we left
for Rishikesh.
Miracle 2 - Having reached Rishikesh, we went to Parmarth Niketan Ashram where we accommodated ourselves. I was carrying with me a card that I was given by a Tour Operator. I called Mr. Rakesh Bhartwal and he asked me to come the next day at 10.00am.
When we met Rakesh Bhartwal the next day, another miracle unfolded. I told him I had the honour of looking into Ravalji's health and he was overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude. Rakesh immediately reduced the taxi fare we discussed with him by Rs.1000. More was to come from him as miracles.
Another arrangement made by one of our friends in Rishikesh was our experience of River Rafting. We enjoyed the 16 kms in all which was a 2 1/2 hours experience.
Miracle 3 - We were leaving for Badrinath the next day and after Ganga Arati, I went to the Reception. A form was given to fill with questions asked what we do and how we could contribute to the Ashram. I wrote about my work and thought it would be filed and put away.
What happened was that Subhash, the person at the Reception actually read it and asked me whether I could see someone just then. I agreed. He asked me to stay put at the reception, quickly went inside and returned within 5 minutes to escort me to meet Alkaji, Secretary to Muniji, the Chief of Parmarth Niketan Ashram. After meeting her and fixing an appointment on my return from Badrinath, we started the next morning. How this turns into a miracle... you will read ahead.
Enroute to Badrinath, we were taken care of with breakfast and lunch provided at appropriate times. On reaching Badrinath, we were hosted in an Ashram dormitory. Sudha was anxious about privacy and toilet facility. Again, we were waiting for some miracle to happen.
After
we relaxed a while and cleansed ourselves, we went to meet Ravalji. Here we
were lucky to see the utsav murthy. Ravalji was happy to see us in Badrinath
and when Sudha asked Him to narrate a miraclous experience, He said, "everything
that happens here is a miracle." He told us, "as long as you stay
in Badrinath, you will have meals at our residence." And Ravalji's cook
told us that the food that is served is the same food that is offered to Lord
Badrinarayan in the temple.
That night, we were accommodated in another room which had wall to wall carpeting. We were introduced to Mr.Sankaran, paternal uncle of Ravalji who has built the Ashram to
