Perspective

In this Universe, there are no rights and wrongs... just perspectives

If someone told you how beautiful you were, would you believe them? Chances are, you would, or you would not.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, you see yourself. When you look elsewhere, you see other people too, but facing the mirror, you see only yourself.

Now, while looking at the mirror, if you asked yourself, amongst the people you see, who do you think is the most beautiful person in the world, you will see no one but you.

Perspective is a very important word to know. Your perspective or view point of yourself is the most powerful tool you have with you. Your perspective of yourself is as true as another person’s perspective of you. What you want to focus on is what you will feel like.

If you focus on others perspective of you which could be anything but your perspective of yourself, then there is a conflict in the mind. This gives rise to restlessness, anxiety, lack of sleep, a lack of acceptance, a want to prove yourself, get the other person to accept your perspective and so on.

You are then riding a wave of impossibilities. You then begin to harbour emotions of lack. I am not be-

autiful. I am not worth it. I am not what I thought I was, I am not successful, etc.

You must remember that the emotions that you harbour are the experiences that you will manifest. Reflecting on what experiences you have manifested so far is not as important as what experiences you will be manifesting now.

Hence, changing your perspective of yourself to something that is true and befitting you is the most important task to perform.

But, before you do that, you have to let go of the perspectives others have of you that you are harbouring within yourself.

All feelings of pain, grief, depression, anger, aggression, fear, etc are self defeating emotions that disconnect you from your Universe.

When you feel separated from your Universe, then your Universe, which is unilateral (without duality), will with your will, produce more situations for you to continue feeling that way. Your Universe does not understand your words. It simply responds to your feelings. If you have love, even then, the Universe will simply produce more situations for you to continue feeling that love.

All emotions are of the mind. You are not your mind. So, liberate yourself from self defeating emotions, rise above your mind and align with the Universe. You will then experience true liberation from the sufferings of the world. You will experience freedom.

Your feelings reflect back to you

Your feelings are one of the most important aspects of your life.

The Vedas declare;

Yat Bhavam, tat Bhavati

meaning, what you feel and what you perceive within is what you will manifest.

Your mind and the emotions project themselves with a perception of being separate from the Universe. If the ocean was the Universe and you were a drop of water separated from the ocean, you will dry up soon. The same happens when your mind feels itself separated from its source.

The Practice

The practice is not one of rubbishing others perspective of you. It is rather one which rightful space for all of us to have our own perspective of what we perceive.

It is a practice that allows everything to exist rightfully. Remember, perspective is “perceived truth” but not the absolute truth.

Try this practice. It might work for you. Whenever you feel you want to impose your thoughts on others or you feel others want to impose their thoughts on you, tell yourself, “S/he has her/his own perspective and rightfully so. I don’t have to accept it.

I honour their perspective and at the same time, also, respect my own perspective. In the Universe, there are no rights or wrongs.”

The Result

When you have done this practice, you will see how by this affirmation, you will liberate your mind of the suffering that it goes through.

You don’t dislike anyone anymore. You simply let everyone exist as they are. They are being themselves and you are being yourself.

The mind is simply a tool that you use to perform your tasks. The mind has received training

through your senses. You cannot change the old ways of the mind, but you can replace them with a new way. You can change the way information is processed or not, this moment on.

You just have to tell your mind what to do. Initially, the mind will resist, but gradually, it will start behaving the way you want it to.

You will then see how perspectives no longer matter. You will then experience freedom.
